What's changed about 7Live?

  • A brand-new look and feel
  • New video player
  • Delivery improvements for broadcast streams
  • Live progress bar

We're focused on bringing you a great viewing experience. If you have any suggestions on making 7Live the best it can be, contact us here.

What content can I stream?
You’ll have access to all of Seven’s free-to-air channels, 7, 7TWO, 7mate, 7flix and Racing.com as well as Seven’s broadcast of live sporting events including: Rugby League World Cup, selected Women’s Rugby League World Cup matches, Melbourne Cup, Australian Open, The Olympic Winter Games and The Commonwealth Games as long as you have data or internet access.
Will I see advertising on the site?
7Live is a free service supported by advertising.

Why do we ask for your location?
7Live requests your location to determine which localised broadcast of 7, 7TWO, 7mate and 7flix is streamed to your device so that the broadcast schedule and content is the same on your television as it is on your device.
Why can't I enter my postcode anymore?
7Live now relies on requesting your location to determine which localised broadcast of 7, 7TWO, 7mate and 7flix to give you faster access to streams on your device. You will now receive the same broadcast schedule and content on your device as it is on your television.
When can I use Airplay and Chromecast?
Airplay and casting capabilities will be coming soon to mobile apps.
What do I need to access 7Live?
You must be in Australia and using a supported device. We recommend a minimum internet data speed of at least 3 Mbps to ensure standard quality. To reach higher HD quality, you would need to look at speeds of 5 to 7 Mbps.

What web browsers can I use for 7Live?

Can content be viewed in HD?
We’re looking to add this feature in the future. Check back here or stay up to date via our social channels.

Is streaming 7Live unmetered?
No, streaming is metered and will incur data charges as per your mobile / home internet plan. 7Live uses adaptive streaming that automatically adjusts the quality of the video based on the quality of your internet connection.

How do I find out how much data 7Live is using?
It’s as easy as turning off your cellular data and checking your usage in device settings. This will ensure that you can continue to stream all your favourite Seven content.

You can opt in for cellular data notifications in the settings of the 7Live native app. Every time you are not on a Wi-Fi connection, you will be notified that you are using data.

I have a fast-broadband connection, why am I still having issues?
There can be several reasons as to why you may experience buffering issues when streaming content. Try switching to another internet connection such as an alternate Wi-Fi network or via mobile broadband. If you continue to see issues, then you may have interference on your connection or your Internet Service Provider may be slowing access to certain services.

If you are using a mobile device, make sure you are running the latest software and that there aren’t any apps running in the background. If you are using a computer browser, please ensure it has been updated to the latest version or alternatively try a different browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox to see if the experience changes.

If you continue to experience issues, our team are more than happy to assist you further. You can get in touch here.

Why is my stream constantly buffering (starting/stopping)?
The app uses adaptive streaming technology to automatically adjust the quality of your stream to suit your internet speed and the capability of your device. For an optimal streaming experience, we recommend a minimum internet data speed of at least 3Mbps or above.

To check your internet speed, please visit speedtest.net. This site allows you to see your download and upload speeds; the higher the number, the better the speed. If the issues are consistent, it may be worth contacting your internet service provider. This issue can occur for several reasons. These reasons include:

  • Low bandwidth connection
  • Other users on your network sharing the internet connection
  • Poor internet connection at the time of viewing the video. On occasions internet connections, can drop out or are overloaded due to high internet traffic. Speak with your ISP if you notice any ongoing issues.
  • Wireless internet connections can get interrupted resulting in playback issues. Speak with your ISP if you notice any ongoing issues.

Why does the ad play but not the stream itself?
Please ensure that you are connecting via an Australian internet connection and that you don’t have any VPN or Proxy Services running.

If the issue occurs on all streams and you are connecting from within Australia, please try connecting to a different network to check if this issue is specific to your connection. If this is the case, please let us know and our friendly support team will work with you and your internet service provider to troubleshoot further.

If you are only having issues with some live streams, please get in touch with the details and our trusty support team will look into this further.

Why can't I watch AFL on 7Live?
Seven’s rights extend to the free-to-air television broadcast of AFL matches. For all your AFL action, check your local program guide for matches on 7 or 7mate.
How can I set up Parental Controls?
There are no parental controls within the 7Live product right now. We’re looking to add this feature in the future. Check back here or stay up to date via our social channels.
Where can I find classifications for a particular live stream?
Listed classifications can be found in the information panel of a selected live stream. If you would like to find out more about classifications, please click here.
